I m installing atticfoil radiant barrier using the staple up method.

When you install atticfoil with the proper air gaps it allows for maximum ventilation between the roof and the foil and it also gives you the benefit of full. Unfortunately in most homes this is not the case. Baffles placed in this area channel intake air into either the attic space or vent chutes and also prevent insulation from falling into the soffit and blocking airflow. The hot air will travel the path of least resistance to make its way out of your attic.

The success of a vented attic or roof deck relies on its airtightness. By leaving a gap some of the air behind the foil will come in to the attic but that is ok. The space above the top plate of exterior walls at the bottom of each rafter bay is especially important. How much of a gap should i leave at the tops and the bott.

I am in the process of buying a new house. This material should have extended all the way to the bottom ends of the rafter joists where the roof deck meets the fascia board basically the area where the gutters are hung. 3 you can see usually a light where floor of the attic meet roof this is the light from soffit fascia area. The roof decking is left slightly shorter than the rafter ends creating a gap between the roof and the gutter.
