Gutters home improvement cleaning your gutters may not be the most enjoyable task on your summer to do list but the summer months are the perfect time to do a gutter checkup because it s typically the driest time of year when your gutters are doing minimal work. But fall isn t the only time you want to clean your gutters. Place your ladder squarely on a level ground before you climb it. In the fall it is important to start cleaning the gutters when the leaves begin to fall. And in early fall any leaves or other debris that fell into your gutters during the hot summer months should be thoroughly dry and will therefore be easy to remove from the gutter system. If you wait they will get soggy with rain and freeze up in clumps when the winter comes. Fall is a great time to tackle this as the leaves are still relatively dry and easier to remove.
